Mama Shelter, the boutique hotel brand established by Phillipe Starck, have become the operators of the 1960’s modernist icon ‘Park Hotel’. As part of the re-branding the public areas have been substantially remodeled. Working alongside Mama Shelter’s own creative team, IBA developed the design and acted as local executive architects for the project.
The design theme follows the idiosyncratic style typical of the Mama Shelter brand and is here adapted within a modernist framework. The expressive interior uses a playful combination of eclectic furniture and design elements creating an informal, rich and contemporary ambiance. The project was completed in 2018 and the client is Cedar Capital.
