IBA worked as local executive architects with UK Designers Conran & Partners on the complete refurbishment of the public areas and all 70 guest rooms. The changes to the building, which is located in the heart of the Prague’s Old Town, will include a lively café / wine bar, which will be the first arrival experience for guests and which will also attract locals and passers by.
The rich interior design theme derives from Prague’s historic architecture and modernist heritage, combining both elements into a styling described as ‘poetic modernism’.
Located in the centre of Prague’s Old town, the building is highly protected and the design changes had to be painstakingly negotiated with the heritage authorities.
