The Kappa building marks the latest residential phase of Crestyl’s Hagibor development in Prague 10.

The 22,000m2 project creates a landmark gateway to the development and will form one side of a busy pedestrian boulevard linking Vinohradská street with the heart of the new district.

The building is a variant of the traditional  urban block with an enclosed courtyard. Rising above a plinth of lower floors are 4 pyramid like masses which are shaped to maximise daylighting to the inner courtyard, to create expansive terraces for the apartments and also to comply with building proximity regulations. Deeply recessed balconies complement the forms and provide sun shading for the apartments below. Green roofs and recouperation ventilation to all apartments help to further minimise the building’s carbon footprint.

The project which is currently at building permit stage will provide 253 apartments with retail at ground level.
